 Jagdish
(Vijay) is an army captain, who belongs to a Tamil family based
in Mumbai. He comes to Mumbai on a long vacation for 40 days,
with the desire to enjoy the vacation with his family,
consisting of his loving parents and two sisters. His parents
wish to get him married to an appropriate girl.
And during his stay in Mumbai, bomb blasts happen. Jagdish gets
the greater task of eradicating the sleeper cells that are out
to bomb and terrorize Mumbai across 12 prominent localities.
Along with his usual romantic escapades with Nisha (Kajal
Aggarwal), his girlfriend, the movie moves with how Vijay gets
into the task and saves the public forms the rest of the story.
Relying mainly on Ilayathalaphathy Vijay, this stylish and
extravagant entertainer is all about how the hero of the film
handles this terror network.
Vijay has lived his role in
Thuppakki. Vijay looks ever youthful and has a muscular look.
His prowess at fight sequences and dance movements are
well-known, but Murugadoss has used his skills, packaged and
presented them in the movie in a perfect and stylish manner than
ever. In the introduction song “Kutti Puli Koottam”, Vijay has
presented an extraordinary dance. Kajal has a gorgeous look in
the movie and has paired-up very well with Vijay. Jayaram’s
renowned comic timing is perfect in this movie too while Sathyan
has done a worthy presence in the movie as Jagdish’s police
friend. Vidyut Jamwal is a nice match for the unbeatable hero.
Harris Jayaraj’s songs were a hit even before the release of the
movie, especially ‘Google Google‘ song sung and danced by Vijay
along with Kajal have created the buzz ahead of the movie’s
release. And this album would add credits to the pockets of
Harris.
The fight sequences are mind blowing. Four times national-award
winning cinematographer and director Santhosh Sivan proves a
major asset to the film. A.R.Murugadoss’ films have been big
hits in the past and Thuppakki will also add on to his hit list.
The story of the film looks to be very simple and usual but the
way the director has handled the screenplay makes the movie
fantastic and one would never get bored while viewing the movie.
Thuppakki is a perfect action entertainer and a great treat for
Diwali from Vijay and A.R.Murugadoss. |
