 Richa
had walked out of Venkat Prabhu’s film which had Karthi in the
lead role. Richa had earlier acted in films like Mayakkam Enna
and Osthi.
It was decided to cast Richa opposite Karthi in the film Biryani
directed by Venkat Prabhu. All of a sudden she quit this film.
When asked her that whether she had any qualms with him, she
said, “ In the first place I did not sign for the film Biryani.
I listened to script of this film.
I came to know that there are three heroines in this film.
Venkat Prabhu wanted me to be one of those heroines. Venkat
Prabhu later on told me about the changes in the script that he
had made.
My role was also changed. I did not like that.
Hence I decided to quit this film. I spoke about this to Venkat
Prabhu wholeheartedly. I told him that I didn’t like the role
and hence I want to quit this film.
He agreed about my decision. I will definitely act in his film
if I get the opportunity. Many are asking me that whether I have
started concentrating in Telugu films. Only Tamil films gave me
recognition.
I got five awards for Mayakkam Enna and one award for Osthi. I
have great passion for Tamil cinema. Similarly people in Tamil
Nadu have given me recognition.I will definitely act in Tamil
films if I get good stories. I am currently acting in four
Telugu films.” |
